I purchased my first SLR over 30 years ago and filled photo albums with a picture history of my family.  When I bought my first digital camera over 10 years ago I fell in love with photography all over again.  As those of you who switched from film to digital know a whole new world was opened up.

First I became the designated photographer for the theater troupe my children participated in, then a friend's daughter asked me to take her senior portrait.  Soon others began asking me to take their senior and family portraits.

I've never thought of myself as an artist--my educational background is mathematics.  But that lends itself perfectly to photography--because good composition in a photo considers symmetry, balance and pattern.  It's very mathematical in many ways.  And my analytical and problem solving skills are just what is needed in understanding the relationships between camera settings, composition, and the editing process.

I thoroughly enjoy the photographic process--from working with clients and composing  portraits or a photo journal of a special event to the editing process where I work to make an image pop.  And I enjoy sharing my skills, knowledge and what I've learned with others in their photographic discovery.
